We here at the Wine Source would like to wish you all the happiest of holidays, and the brightest of new years. We appreciate your business, and we’re lucky to have such a great customer base. As we transition from 2014 into 2015, we want to toast you the best way we know how – by recommending some sparkling options to ring in the new year with friends and family!
The “buy it by the case” pick: Dibon Cava, $8.79/bottle
We know, you love your friends, and you’re excited to have them over for New Years Eve, and you want everyone to have a Champagne flute in hand. Dibon Cava is a perennial favorite for an inexpensive sparkler that is surprisingly good for its price point. If you stop by the store, you’ll see a hefty display of it right up front, and that’s because we want to share it with you! Great on its own, when you find a few bottles of this cava floating around on New Years Day, know that it makes a perfect mimosa, so feel free to stay in your PJs, make some french toast, and look forward to a strong 2015.
The “too pretty not to” pick: Paul Mas Cremant Rose, $11.99/bottle
Nothing says “I’m going to stick to my New Years Resolutions” more clearly than a glass of something pink and bubbly, right? We think so. This Cremant Rose from producer Paul Mas is another amazing sparkling value. Dry, crisp, clean, and certainly not lacking in rich fruit, this is incredibly easy to drink. It pours a beautiful hibiscus color in the glass, and its luxurious aromas and flavor profile make this a winner in our book year round, but especially for New Years Eve.
The “can’t go wrong with a classic” pick: Roederer Estate Brut, $19.99/bottle
As the pick name would suggest, we’ve worked with this product consistently, and it doesn’t let us down! An elegant California sparkler that shares important qualities with true Champagnes, the Roederer Estate shows bright, fresh fruit, as well as toasty notes. Produced from 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, this wine features finesse and layers of white fruits and hazelnut that will quickly make it a favorite of yours, as well.
The “true Champagne – just go for it” pick: Alfred Gratien Brut, $39.99/bottle
Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and love went into this bottling. This is a solid value for a true Champagne, and its palate is impressively lengthy with aromas of exotic fruits, and flavors of peach, apricot, and some citrus, mingling with toasted oak influence. A classic Champagne with a touch of flair, we think you should pick a bottle up, because you’re worth it.
